Homework

Very short biography

My name is Lu, but my friends call me Emerald. You may call me Ms. Long.

I was hatched in the middle of no where. I grew up traveling the world with my friends and companions. Got married when I was about two years old. I had children, seven of them, but not with the man I married. Dragons and humans just don't mix that way. Any way, you are probably wondering about my children, yes? Well, I had them when I was around four years old. I bet your wondering how I pulled that off, huh? Well, lets not go there, it has to do with a demon and a silly wish he granted me. Unfortunately, two of my young ones have already passed from this plane of existence. I hope that someday I shall be reunited with them.

During my travels I became a Doctor in the sciences, medicine, cybernetics, and a couple of other things. You seem to be troubled by how that is possible, let me enlighten you a bit.

I am a dragon. I was born with a full head of knowledge, as is customary with my race. I already knew almost everything there was to know about medicine and science, so it wasn't a great leap for me to learn cybernetics and computers.

I never knew who my parents were. That is, until I went to Africa. There I met my father, and proceeded to plot his death. Don't get me wrong, he's a great ruler. So long as you have enough money to avoid becoming a slave. He treats people well, if you have enough drugs or a bad enough history to make you disreputable. Him and I have tangled only twice in my life. The first time I walked away forever missing an eye, the second time I limped away with one of my legs permanently crippled (one out of six ain't bad). I thought that I had killed him once, but that was when he showed up and crippled my leg. I will kill him, you mark my words!

I met my mother in Canada. Lazlo to be specific, it is where Ontario used to be I think. I was working at a school for magic, as an instructor of course. I was surprised to feel her come into town (dragons can sense each other you know). So I immediately went out to meet her. Needless to say, she was surprised to see me, but I didn't find out till years later why, and it's not really important now. I got to know her pretty well over the next couple days. She is a pilot (go figure, a dragon with no wings flying a plane), and travels even more then I did in my youth.

My youth. It didn't last very long. I never told anyone this, but sometimes I think that I should have never let that demon age me 600 years. I know I will live to be at least 6000. But, I truly, completely lost my youth to that. Not that I would have had much of one any way. Mine is a very rare species, we pride ourselves on being the protectors of the human race. I was lucky to have as many children as I did. They raised the population by one third again what it was before they were born on Earth. Although, one of my sons is taking after his grandfather, my father. I really would hate to have to kill him too. I just hope that they all get to enjoy the youth that was lost to me!
