Little Demonic Microwave October 16, 2002

The microwave, affectionately called the "nuker," is a strange and powerful thing. I will be speaking of one specific nuker, and that one of which I speak sits in the lunchroom of my place of employment. This device is a bit on the powerful side. Everyone who uses it should be careful to not overdue anything, because it is so easy to do. Most microwaves have a set power level, and this one does too. Its power level just happens to be two, or maybe even three, times the power of your normal average everyday machine.
What does that mean? That means that if you want to pop popcorn you should only put it in for two minutes MAX. If you put popcorn in for the allotted time, which I believe is four to six minutes, then you will be dining on charcoal. If one would like to heat a brownie or cookie that they get out of the vending machine, they have to be extra careful, as this little demonic device doesn't seem to like them. No matter how little time one puts in said delicacies, they always seem to come out either hard as rocks or seriously overheated.
So you must be very careful when using any microwave, for it may be related to the one whose acquaintance I am trying to forget.
NOTE: This was an assignment for my CCV Creative Writing II online class with William Noble.
