The Weather April 8, 2003

Homework
Remember the old adage--
"April showers, bring May flowers?"
Mother taught me that,
When I was young.
I still hold the weather,
To that standard.
Don't think the weather,
Ever heard it though.
Here in Vermont,
It can snow 'till June.
Not something the residents,
Really want to talk about.
And don't give the weather,
Any bad ideas.
Sure, it's great,
For the skiers.
Bet the snowboarders,
Love it too.
And let's not forget,
About the snowmobilers.
But they are usually out,
At two in the morning.
So I don't give a damn,
What they think.
The calendar says it's almost,
Half way through April.
Someone should tell the weather,
What it's SUPPOSED to be doing!
NOTE: This was an assignment for my CCV Creative Writing Poetry onsite class with Michelle Demers.
