I am the Best (revised) March 25, 2003

Homework
I say that I am,
Good with my hands.
I have twined wires so thin,
Around crystals so lovely.
I have strung tiny beads,
On thread as fine as hair.
I have tied those wire-wrapped crystals
To those strings of beads.
Now I make books,
With bindings tight or loose.
With many pages,
All dazzling in color and design
Someday I think I shall,
Combine the two wonders.
For this is what I am great at.
And others can never tell me otherwise.
And I know that I am great,
Just ask me and I will tell you so!
NOTE: This was an assignment for my CCV Creative Writing Poetry onsite class with Michelle Demers.
