Homework
She is one of my babies,
Loudmouthed brat that she is.
Her fur isn't soft as velvet,
But it's always a joy to pet her.
Her eyes are a dark yellow,
That pierces me right to the soul.
She has a great big M on her forehead,
So I call her my "Little Mackerel Kitty."
She isn't the most active,
She has a bad habit of laying about.
She is my wonderful tubby kitty,
She makes a great lap-warmer.
She is one of my babies,
And I'll take care of her till she is gone.
NOTE: This was an assignment for my CCV Creative Writing Poetry onsite class with Michelle Demers.
