Homework
She is not like most.
She does not cuddle,
She does not yell.
She doesn't even seem to care.
She is not all together there,
She doesn't run,
She doesn't sit,
She won't even beg.
She doesn't pounce,
She doesn't play like the others,
She just doesn't seem to understand.
She doesn't mew,
She doesn't cry,
She doesn't seem normal at all.
I think it's all because,
She doesn't hear.
She was born deaf,
But we loved her anyway.
NOTE: This was an assignment for my CCV Creative Writing Poetry onsite class with Michelle Demers.
