Homework
I say that I am,
Good with my hands.
And others must agree.
I have twined wires so thin,
Around crystals so beauteous.
And others oo'ed and awed.
I have strung beads very tiny,
On thread as fine as hair.
And others have applauded.
I have tied those wire-wrapped crystals
To those strings of beads.
And others have smiled.
Now I make books,
With bindings tight or loose.
And other have raised their hands in glory.
For this is what I am great at.
And others can never tell me otherwise.
No one can tell me what I can achieve,
Except for me.
And I know that I am great,
Just ask me and I will tell you so!
NOTE: This was an assignment for my CCV Creative Writing Poetry onsite class with Michelle Demers.
